2024 Film Festival

The 15th annual Festival is September 27th – September 29th.

The influential film festival in the Black Hills returns in September with new films, filmmaker insights, special guests, seminars, networking, merchandise, and more.

We are excited to promote the art of independent film throughout the Black Hills region.

The Festival begins Sept. 27at 3:30 pm hosted by the Journey Museum in Rapid City, SD with the screening of FashionABLE, a documentary film about a unique Fashion Show in Rapid City. Opening night reception, introduction to filmmakers and special guests is at 5:30 pm and is followed at 7:00 pm by a special film presentation “The Best We’ve Got: The Carl Erskine Story.” 

Films continue at the Hill City High School Theater in Hill City, SD Sept. 28 – 29.

A FREE workshop (open to the public) on lighting for film will be held on Saturday morning.

Sunday’s program features a FREE presentation by local Native American Actor, Sam Shoulder.
