Black Hills Community continues its 55th Season by bringing everyone’s favorite singing nuns to the stage! Sister Act: The Musical is the stage adaptation of the 1992 Whoopi Goldberg movie. When showgirl Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, the police hide her in the one place they’re sure the criminals won’t find her: a convent! Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the parish as she discovers the power of her newly found sisterhood.
The Tony Award nominated musical features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, book by Cheri Steinkellner and Bill Steinkellner and additional book material by Douglas Carter Beane, Sister Act is directed by Kristol McKie, a longtime BHCT volunteer who is making her directing debut.
