Elevate Rapid City is dedicated to providing employers with resources for innovative hiring in our Workforce Engagement Strategies Series. This four-part quarterly series is for organizations and community members looking to improve company culture, retention, and recruitment by gaining a deeper understanding of under-utilized talent populations in our community and workforce. Our presenters are experts in their field and provide innovative ideas and resources to help implement changes within businesses.

About the Speaker: LaFawn Janis : City of Rapid City Community Relations Commission, Community Relations Commission Coordinator

 

Lafawn Janis is a member of the Oglala Lakota tribe, born in Pine Ridge and has been a Rapid Citian since the 80’s. Lafawn works with the Community Relations Commission with the City of Rapid City, where they work on bringing people together to bridge relationships, and walk away with new ideas. She has worked with national experts and trains in the fields of human resources, violence prevention, leadership development and obtained her B.S. in Education from Black Hills State University.
